Provincial Sales Decline in October


According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), 5 988 transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in October 2022, a decrease of 29 per cent. Active listings are up 34 per cent and new listings increased by 5 per cent compared to October 2021.

Regarding the median price, the largest change was for plexes, which decreased by 4 per cent. The median price of single-family homes increased by 2 per cent, while that of condominiums remained stable.

Here are the October 2022 median prices for a single-family home in the 6 CMAs along with the variation from October of last year.

Montréal : $510,000 (-1 per cent)

Gatineau : $451,300 (+13 per cent)

Québec : $349,000 (+9 per cent)

Sherbrooke : $350,000 (+17 per cent)

Saguenay : $227,000 (+3 per cent)

Trois-Rivières : $267,750 (+12 per cent)
