3 Tips for Turning Your Pumpkin into an Ornament
Halloween doesn't necessarily mean carving your pumpkin into a weird or scary face. This year, turn your pumpkin into a beautiful decoration for your home.
1. With candle wax
Pour hot wax of different colours over your pumpkin, letting them run down to create a beautiful, fountain-like effect. You can also make your pumpkin into a candle-holder. Simply cut a hole in the top, scoop out the pulp, find a candle to fit the hole and wedge it in securely before lighting. Now it'll produce a warm glow as well as stunning wax patterns.
2. With glitter
Choose your favourite glitter colours and create a simple design for your artwork, marking it out in pen or using a stencil. You can either coat the pumpkin in glue first, then shake on dry glitter, or apply ready-mixed glue-glitter. You could leave some areas bare for contrast. Your creation will look stunning in the light of a candle, lamp or log-fire.
3. With paint
Acrylic paint has a striking effect on a pumpkin's shell. You can either spray-paint it, or use brushes or other applicators for a more precise design. A range of stencils can also be purchased, but if you prefer to paint freestyle, why not?
