Drop in Sales Across the Province in February

According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers ( QPAREB), 8,891 transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in February 2022, a decrease of 15 per cent. Active listings are down 23 per cent and new listings declined by 5 per cent compared to February 2021.

Plexes saw the largest increase in the median price, up by 31 per cent. Signe-family homes follow closely with a 26 per cent increase and prices for condominiums are up 20 per cent.

Here are the February 2022 median prices for a single-family home in the 6 CMAs along with the variation from February of last year.

  • Montreal: $550,000 (+20 per cent)
  • Gatineau: $462,000 (+25 per cent)
  • Quebec City: $339,960 (+15 per cent)
  • Sherbrooke: $350,000 (+18 per cent)
  • Saguenay: $220,000 (+4 per cent)
  • Trois-Rivières: $254,000 (+18 per cent)
