Drop in Sales Across the Province in May


According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), 9,382 transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in May 2022, a decrease of 11 per cent. Active listings are down 9 per cent and new listings increased by 10 per cent compared to May 2021.


Single-family homes saw the largest increase in the median price, up by 20 per cent. Plexes increase by 15 per cent and condominiums by 12 per cent.

Here are the May 2022 median prices for a single-family home in the 6 CMAs along with the variation from May of last year.

  • Montréal : $576,000 (+16 per cent)
  • Gatineau : $470,000 (+16 per cent)
  • Québec : $350,000 (+13 per cent)
  • Sherbrooke : $377,450 (+35 per cent)
  • Saguenay : $241,100 (+10 per cent)
  • Trois-Rivières : $305,000 (+45 per cent)
