This building, located at 395 Notre-Dame Street West, dates from 1865 and was originally built for commercial purposes (stores, warehouses). It is part of Montreal's heritage site and has been listed in the Quebec Cultural Heritage Register since 1964. The architect associated with its design is William Spier, who was active in 19th-century Montreal and contributed to several commercial buildings of the period. Built during the boom in Old Montreal, it embodied the typical style of gray stone commercial buildings, with elegant facades and large windows. The building has evolved into a mixed-use building: loft-style residential condominium.
